In such cases, it is necessary to restrict consumption to stop the power system from crashing altogether. Fingrid informs citizens on its [ website (https://www.fingrid.fi/en/grid/information-regarding-electricity-shortages/) and with a press release in accordance with the three-step procedure when the situation possibly escalates.* 0 = Normal* 1 = Electricity shortage possible* 2 = High risk of electricity shortage* 3 = Electricity shortage. The data is updated every 3 minutes.
